About Brandon Koretz

Position: Co-President

Prior to stepping into the role of Co-President, Brandon spent his previous two years on the MSBC team building up the organization’s digital media initiatives as a part of the marketing division. He previously worked as a student intern for the University of Michigan’s athletic department in the media relations and communications office. In that role, Brandon worked with major television networks in addition to creating and supporting online content for MGoBlue.com and assisting in gamely operations for Michigan sports teams. He is also a member of the fraternity Alpha Epsilon Pi.

This past summer, Brandon was an intern with FOX Sports at Big Ten Network in downtown Chicago. With BTN, he worked on various projects for Big Ten Football Media Days, the 2018 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament at Madison Square Garden and the network’s weekly football pregame show BTN Tailgate. For the three summers prior, Brandon spent his time as a counselor at Camp Kawaga, an overnight summer camp where he attended for most of his childhood. Brandon plans to use his academic background and industry experience to start a career on the business side of sports media, specifically working with broadcasting rights and programming, live digital streaming, social media distribution and video syndication.

About Lindsey LaForest

Minor: Law, Justice, and Social Change

Prior to stepping into the role of Co-President, Lindsey spent her previous two years on the MSBC team serving as Vice President of Team Relations where she focused on team culture, communication, and recruiting. Beyond MSBC, Lindsey is the President and Co-Founder of Michigan Women Empowerment in Sport and Entertainment, and a member of the Steering Committee for the Sport Business Association. Also, she currently serves as the SM Career Diversity Team Member for the School of Kinesiology Career Center.

Lindsey served as a Marketing and Communications Intern for StadiumBee, a technology start-up in the sports realm. She also spent a semester as a research assistant for a Title IX project in the Department of Sociology at the University of Michigan. This past summer, Lindsey studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain where she practiced her Spanish and completed art courses in May and June. She spent the rest of summer preparing for the LSAT with the intent of applying to law school after graduating in 2019.

    Position: Chief Operating Officer

    Molly is looking forward to her second year on the MSBC team as Chief Operating Officer. This past summer, Molly worked at Ron Schara Productions as a Sales and Advertising intern. In this role, Molly created a new media kit for RSP, assisted account executives in developing new activations, and helped with a fishing tournament the company produced for the Minnesota Wild. On campus, Molly is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and Cooking for a Cause.

    Experience: Rebecca’s work experience consists of a summer internship at the North American Marketing department at Oracle in NYC, as well as director of business development at CliquePic, a photo sharing app she helped create. On campus Rebecca is a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and serves on the house management committee. Rebecca began her experience with the MSBC on the Event Planning team, creating and maintaining vendor relationships as well as planning the day of logistics of the 2016 conference. This past year, Rebecca served as the Chief Operating Officer and was tasked with creating a unique business strategy to drive the success of the 6th annual MSBC.

  • About Allison Abrutyn

    Position: Conference Experience Manager

    With a strong interest and passion for sports since she was little, Allison is extremely excited about being part of planning her first MSBC as a Conference Experience Manager. She has previous experience in the sports business world as she was an intern for a talent representation agency, The Montag Group, based in New York. She was tasked with researching professional athletes for potential representation by the agency and brands to endorse newly represented as well as athletes already represented by the company. On campus, Allison is a proud member of a sorority, Sigma Delta Tau, where she was the previous Public Relations Chair. Allison is also involved in Go Blue Wear Pink, a fundraising based club that raises money for breast cancer where she held the position as Sales Chair.  For the past two summers Allison has worked at Rye Brook Day Camp, a local day camp, as a Head Counselor. She is excited to take her experience in multiple fields of sports and business and bring them to planning the best MSBC yet.

  • About Connor Mulliken

    Position: Account Manager

    Connor spent last summer interning with MKM Partners in Stamford, Connecticut as an equity research intern specifically focused on Semiconductor companies in Eastern Asia. Prior to that, Connor interned at Castleton Commodities International and did market analysis to support the company’s initiative to expand into the renewable energy field. Here on campus, Connor is a member of Kids Without Cancer, an organization dedicated to raising funds to promote pediatric cancer research at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, and a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.

    Position: Account Manager

    Jacob has begun gaining valuable experience in the marketing and sales space.  This past summer, he interned for DraftKings.com on their Digital Partnerships and Acquisition team where he worked on developing new and innovative ways to market their product.  On campus, he is a member of the Sport Business Association and on the Mental Health and Academic committees of his fraternity, Delta Upsilon.  Jacob is interning at Relevent Sports this summer to gain insight into the Soccer industry.

    Position: Speakers Logistics Manager

    Mason spent the Summer of 2017 interning for the Tulsa Sports Commission in a Research and Development role, coordinating and working on a variety of projects and events that were focused on the economic development of the city. He is interested in urban development and marketing as they are related to the sports industry, and hopes to intern in one of these areas during the upcoming summer. Outside of class, he is involved in the Sport Business Association, Michigan Sport Consulting Club, and Unicef. He also serves as the Chair of Philanthropy for the Phi Epsilon Kappa Professional Kinesiology Fraternity.

    Position: Creative and Graphics Manager

    A current sophomore and new member of the team, Molly is excited to contribute to the success of the MSBC as the creative and graphics manager.  Molly spent this past summer as an Intern for the Unified Media Marketing Group where she completed various graphic design projects.  On campus, Molly serves as the Ritual Chairman for Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and is a member of the Michigan Club Tennis Team.  In her spare time, Molly enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.

    Position: Logistics and Event Communications Manager

    In Nick’s professional experience, he has spent his time working as a lead data analyst at Atlantis Technology in Concord, MA. Nick plans on returning there this summer before completing his time at Michigan. In his free time, Nick created a model to project free agent salaries in the MLB and also watch Boston sports tear up their respective leagues.

  • About Owen Rothman

    Position: Non-Michigan Marketing Manager

    Owen’s passion is sports, and he aspires to pursue a career in sports business.  In the related field of entertainment, Owen worked as an intern for Kavana Entertainment and as an intern in the Acquisitions Department of Shoreline Entertainment.  Moreover, since last spring, Owen has been employed as a Student Ambassador for the startup company Real Time Cases, from which he has acquired practical experience in marketing and management.   Owen has been involved with the Special Olympics, and he worked extensively with the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. He also used to write a weekly column for isportsweb.com covering his hometown Clippers and UCLA. Currently, he serves on the Steering Committee of the Michigan Sport Business Association. Owen’s extracurricular interests include writing, cooking and politics.

    Experience: Aside from MSBC, Anthony currently serves as member on the Executive Board of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity and is the head of Student Ambassadors of a subleasing startup company, University Sublet. Anthony has work experience as an Administrative Assistant Intern at Bedrock Real Estate in Downtown Detroit last summer, and the previous two years he was a camp counselor in Ontario. In Anthony’s free time he enjoys expanding upon his foreign language fluency and traveling the world.

    Experience: Brady worked with the Applied Analytics team at Legendary Entertainment for the past two summers, utilizing data analytics to help make strategic marketing decisions for the company and its clients. He worked the previous two summers as a counselor at Canyon Creek Summer Camp. His academic interests include business, statistics, computer science, and more. On campus, in addition to MSBC, Brady proudly serves on the executive board of Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity.

    Experience: Josh is currently in the Sports Business Association, Future Business Leaders of America, and holds an Executive Board position in the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.  He has spent the past two summers as a camp counselor in Northern Ontario.  In his free time, he enjoys watching and attending sporting events, and learning more about the sport industry through the reading of journals and other sport-related resources.

    Experience: Madeleine is an extremely creative and driven indivdual who hopes to work in Art Direction in the future. She joined the Michigan Sports Business Conference as an outlet to explore how the worlds of business and art collide. This past summer, she worked in the art department of an Embroidery and arts and crafts manufacturer. Her campus involvement consists of being a member of the Michigan Yoga Club and Alpha Phi Omega, in addition to her role on MSBC.

    Experience: As a student in the field of Sport Management, Michael brings an incredible amount of knowledge of the area of sports to the field. Outside of the MSBC, he was an intern in a Kinesiology lab in the summer of 2015.  Michael worked on the executive board of the Friends of Israeli Defense Forces teen board in Long Island, and was a volunteer for autistic kids, teaching them the basic skills of soccer. Additionally, he is a member of the Sports Business Association here in Ann Arbor.

    Experience: Nathan has previous professional experiences working for Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Northrop Grumman, of which the latter he is returning to as a software engineer this summer.Beyond his corporate experiences, Nathan does business development for The Michigan Daily and is a project manager for BOND Consulting Group. He is passionate about using technology and data to solve problems and bring people together.

    Experience: Scott spent his last summer as an Intern for the Boston Red Sox Foundation, working closely with all of the departments of the Foundation, preparing presentation decks for potential sponsors as well as managing game-day volunteers for the 50-50 raffle. His experience includes being co-founder of The Breakdown and volunteering for Global Brigades. On campus, Scott is a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Maize Rage and the Sport Business Association.
