Experience: As a freshman, Brandon was a member of the MSBC Event Planning Team. In his second year, Brandon served as the inaugural Chief Operating Officer, where he oversaw the operations of the 30-student team. Brandon managed a $70,000 budget, which included $35,000 in corporate sponsorship revenue, led his team to sell over 800 tickets, which is the most in conference history, increased MSBC’s social media reach by over 200% on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

During his first semester on campus, Brandon interned with the USA Hockey Team National Development Team where he executed pregame and postgame tasks, learned about operations and marketing, and documented player statistics during games. This past summer, Brandon served as a Corporate Partnerships and Marketing Services Intern for Premier Partnerships where he provided sales research to executives that was used to sell the naming rights to the Pro Football Hall of Fame to Johnson Controls & Buffalo Bills stadium to New Era Cap Company. Brandon’s favorite MSBC experience was seeing all the team’s work come together on the morning of the 2016 conference.

Experience:  Jordan has held several intern positions over the last couple of years including serving as a Marketing Intern at Thuzio, Marketing Services Intern at Premier Partnerships, and a Sport Marketing Intern with the U of M Athletic Department. This past summer, Jordan served as a Commercial Operations Intern for the Australian Baseball League. Prior to his current role, he served as Vice President of Partnerships for MSBC.

    Experience: DJ is a Sophomore in the Ross School of Business concentrating in real estate in finance. Last summer, DJ interned with CA-Ventures, a Chicago-based student housing company who were the original builders of Landmark in Ann Arbor. The summer prior to that, DJ interned with the Baseball Operations department of the Detroit Tigers. He enjoys his time golfing with the Club Golf team as well as running his start-up University Sublet and day-trading on the side.

    Experience: Jack’s previous professional experience includes interning for Capitol Peak Asset Management and Lenox Advisors. Through these internships he has had the opportunity to help manage the Rural Opportunity Investment Conference at The White House the past two summers. On campus, Jack is a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, Phi Chi Theta professional business and economics fraternity and Kids Without Cancer, a student organization focused on raising funds for pediatric cancer research. He serves on the executive board for all three of his other extracurricular acitivities on campus.

    Experience: Lindsey is honored to serve as Vice President of Team Relations for a second year and help MSBC succeed. Additionally, she is the Vice President of Michigan Women Empowerment in Sport and Entertainment, and a member of the Steering Committee for the Sport Business Association. This past summer, Lindsey was a Marketing and Communications Intern for a technology start-up in the sports realm while also working as a sales assistant at the local batting cages. Also, Lindsey has been around sports her entire life and served as a travel baseball coach for 4 summers.

    Experience: Nick spent this past summer as a data analyst intern Atlantis Technology, where he will be returning in April. He conducted startup feasibility studies and comprehensive data analyses on the initial capital investment for multiple prospective business ventures in the public, real­ estate, and financial sectors as well as a solutions-oriented tracking system for assessing the effectiveness of the company’s outreach efforts. On campus, Nick is in the process of co-founding his second startup, while researching and writing for the Michigan Sport Analytics Society.

    Experience: Rebecca’s work experience consists of a summer internship at the North American Marketing department at Oracle in NYC, as well as director of business development at CliquePic, a photo sharing app she helped create. On campus Rebecca is a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and serves on the house management committee. Rebecca began her experience with the MSBC on the Event Planning team, creating and maintaining vendor relationships as well as planning the day of logistics of the 2016 conference. Now as Chief Operating Officer, Rebecca is tasked with creating a unique business strategy to drive the success of the 6 th annual MSBC.

  • About Emma Xu

    Experience:  Emma has been very involved in sport marketing and international sport. This past summer, she worked for Oceans Sports & Entertainment in Beijing as a Marketing Partnerships intern. Her responsibilities included developing sponsorship proposals for brands and companies, sponsorship package design and negotiations, creating sport marketing plans, as well as servicing sport entity clients. She was involved in working with Manchester City FC, the FIVB, DHL, Danone, General Mills, Gatorade and Prince. In 2015, Emma worked as the Media Center manager for the 2015 IAAF World Championships in Athletics. She managed a team of 30 volunteers to deliver more than 100,000 copies of competitions results to over 700 international media members. Currently, she is a Game Presentations intern for Michigan Athletics. Emma is also an experience stage actress and is preparing to go to law school to study intellectual property and sports law.

    Experience: Alex has accumulated valuable experience in financial services to complement his strong foundation in corporate sponsorship. Last summer, he interned at CIT Bank, where he reported directly to the COO of the Real Estate Finance Group and performed various administrative and research projects throughout the summer. In addition to his involvement with MSBC, he is also the Investments Chair of Wolverine Capital Investments and a brother of the Omicron Chapter of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. This upcoming summer, Alex is interning at Morgan Stanley through their Wealth Management Summer Analyst Program in New York.

    Experience: Last summer, Alison worked on the promotions and special events team for the Colorado Rockies. In this position, she managed give aways and kiosks, selected contestants for Jumbotron promotions, escorted the mascot, and hosted the pre-game participants. In addition, Alison has previous worked for KAABOO, a music festival in San Diego. At the University of Michigan, Alison is a member on the Steering Committee for the Sport Business Association, a member of The TAMID Group, and Sisterhood Chair for Chi Omega. Also, Alison in on the WCLL Division 1 Michigan Lacrosse Team.

    Experience: Amanda has had the opportunity to work for individuals within different industries. Starting over the summers she worked for designer Ramy Brook, Mathew Hiltzik in his strategic communications and consulting firm – Hiltzik Strategies, Metropolitan Hospitality in event planning, and assisted the senior project advisor for Sterling Project Developments. On campus, she is a new member of Sigma Delta Tau sorority. she is excited to bring her knowledge in the industry, past experiences, and creativity to the Industry Relations team, and MSBC as a whole.

  • About Amelia Girgenti

    Experience: In the summer of 2016, Amelia interned with the United States Soccer Federation in Chicago where she served as a Development Intern. In this role, she managed donor prospect profiles, compiled weekly reports analyzing fundraising trends, and assisted with the planning and execution of all donor events related to the 2016 Copa America tournament. She also has two years of experience working on the Events and Entertainment team for the Chicago Bears. In addition to her involvement with MSBC, Amelia is a member of the Sport Business Association and is a Sports Information Intern for Michigan Football. This upcoming summer Amelia will be in New York interning for the NBA in their Global Partnerships Department.

    Experience: Aside from MSBC, Anthony currently serves as member on the Executive Board of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity and is the head of Student Ambassadors of a subleasing startup company, University Sublet. Anthony has work experience as an Administrative Assistant Intern at Bedrock Real Estate in Downtown Detroit last summer, and the previous two years he was a camp counselor in Ontario. In Anthony’s free time he enjoys expanding upon his foreign language fluency and traveling the world.

    Experience: Brady worked with the Applied Analytics team at Legendary Entertainment for the past two summers, utilizing data analytics to help make strategic marketing decisions for the company and its clients. He worked the previous two summers as a counselor at Canyon Creek Summer Camp. His academic interests include business, statistics, computer science, and more.     Experience: Brandon works as a student assistant for the Michigan Athletic Department in media relations and communications. In that role, he works with major television networks in addition to creating and supporting online content for MGoBlue.com and assisting in gameday operations for Michigan sports teams. Brandon is a member of the Sport Business Association and the fraternity Alpha Epsilon Pi. Last year, he was the Writer/Content Producer for Marketing on the MSBC team when he helped implement a new, successful digital marketing strategy to grow content reach and help launch the conference into “MSBC 2.0” by strengthening the presence of its brand. Over the summer, Brandon has spent three years as a counselor at Camp Kawaga, an overnight summer camp, where he had many roles including Assistant Program Director, Director of Evening Programs and Head of Competition.

Elsewhere on campus, Emmy serves as her sorority house manager and is an intern with Michigan Athletics Leadership Development and Community Engagement Team. This past summer, Emmy worked as a Residential Teaching Assistant for the Wharton Sport Business and Moneyball Academies. In her free time, Emmy enjoys playing broomball, hockey, and studying Swedish.

    Experience: Last year, Evan worked for GMR Marketing/HBO as an intern/on-campus representative. His responsibilities require him to work remotely (in Ann Arbor) and create various marketing agendas in order to increase HBO NOW’s presence and involvement at the University of Michigan. During this past Summer, Evan worked for The Madison Square Garden Company as an Intern in its Corporate Hospitality and Sales Department. His responsibilities included conducting various daily financial tasks to track MSG clients as well as facilitate client-facing entertainment events. Outside of MSBC he is involved with the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, the UM-Detroit Collaboration, the BBA Marketing Club, and the Sales and Equity Club.

He has received a variety of skills from tax and wealth advisory to marketing. On campus Kevin also works as an Academic Success Coach in Accounting and a Ross BBA Brand Ambassador. Outside of the MSBC, he was an intern in a Kinesiology lab in the summer of 2015.  Michael worked on the executive board of the Friends of Israeli Defense Forces teen board in Long Island, and was a volunteer for autistic kids, teaching them the basic skills of soccer. Additionally, he is a member of the Sports Business Association here in Ann Arbor.

    Experience: Scott spent his last summer as an Intern for the Boston Red Sox Foundation, working closely with all of the departments of the Foundation, preparing presentation decks for potential sponsors as well as managing game-day volunteers for the 50-50 raffle. His experience includes being co-founder of The Breakdown and volunteering for Global Brigades. On campus, Scott is a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Maize Rage and the Sport Business Association.

In addition, Tim has worked as a Sales Floor Representative for Binsons Home Health Care Centers- a large durable medical equipment provider in the Metro-Detroit area. On campus, Tim works for Michigan Athletics as a Game Day Presentation and Special Events Intern and is also a member of the Steering committee for the Sport Business Association. This summer he will be interning with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan in Detroit as a Finance Intern.

Outside of MSBC he is a Brand Manager for the Squad app, Campus Rep for ParqEx and a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Additionally he is a member of Michigan Sport Business Assocaition and Music Matters.

    Experience: Ryan interned at AQR Capital, an investment firm with $135 billion in assets under management. He has also interned for Learnivore in marketing where he helped the online start up work towards connecting instructors to local clients across the country.
