 Michigan Sport Business Conference

Sports Startup Competition

Congratulations to THE SPEW, the winner of our first Sports Startup Competition!

THE SPEW is a five-minute show, streamed exclusively on Facebook Live, which airs every Sunday at 5pm. It talks about some of the most innovative and insightful sports, entertainment, and Michigan talk around, with 80% of its viewers being in the 18-24 year-old demographic. The Spew has been getting almost eight thousand views per episode, and one of the main goals of the show was to bring the Michigan community/network together. The Spew hopes to not only make sports universal to everyone, but also build a bridge between students/student-athletes across campus. After winning the first ever Michigan Sports Startup Competition, The Spew hopes to continue to expand and develop its sales portfolio, eventually using the same platform they have developed to roll it out across the country at other major Division 1 Football schools.

Next summer he is looking to work in either venture capital or within partnerships in sport business.

Andrew Pudduck
.
Pudduck was a University of Michigan Track & Field athlete and collegiate junior when NIKE’s founder
Phil Knight looked him in the eyes and asked “Can you handle this?” Andrew’s answer, of course was “Let’s Go!” Thus hatching NIKE’s first ever all- school athletic sponsorship platform at the University of Michigan.
 .
Since that moment, Pudduck’s career has been defined by some of the most memorable campaigns, launches and turn- arounds in the consumer industry. Fearless in navigating situations others are apprehensive to approach, adept at building high functioning teams; Pudduck designs and executes revenue-generating, brand-building platforms for powerhouse brands like NIKE, Timberland, P&G, Starbucks, Adidas, Coca-Cola, Nintendo, Hooters and HTC. Turning consumers into customers for life, Pudduck is proud to hypothesize there is not one adult in the US who hasn’t laced up, talked on, drank, wore or cheered for an initiative Pudduck built.
 .
Pudduck’s key in a world of hyper-messaging and intense competition for consumer attention; identify and own what you can own.
 .
Originally from Michigan, Andrew lives in West Seattle with a wonderful wife and three energetic boys.
