Social Media Recap of #MSBC2016

As the student planning team enters preparation for the sixth annual Michigan Sport Business Conference this fall, we take a look back at our most successful event yet. From the record attendance to the dynamic partnerships to the influential speaker lineup, the 2016 conference was revolutionary. We thank you for following along and engaging on social media throughout the conference. Without your help, we would not have been able to make #MSBC2016 the No. 1 trending topic in the greater Detroit area. Take a look back at “The Empowered Consumer” through social media…

Thursday Night Dinner

Our conference started at our Thursday Night Dinner for speakers and industry professionals at the Jack Roth Stadium Club inside Michigan Stadium.

The evening included a featured conversation between Michigan Athletic Director Warde Manuel and television anchor Dana Jacobson, who served as the moderator.

Conference Day

We officially started our conference at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, but not before registration and networking with industry professionals.

Dhani Jones returned to his alma mater to serve as the conference emcee.

Prior to the conference, we unveiled our new mobile app ‘MSBC 2016’ for use during the event.

We also unveiled a pair of geofilters on Snapchat for the conference.

The morning keynote conversation featured Don Garber, commissioner of Major League Soccer.

The winners of the BIG Initiative Award were then recognized at the conference.

Attendees transitioned to breakout sessions, where they chose to attend one of six panel discussions.

A couple special guests came by the Ross School of Business to check out the conference.

Before the lunch break, we gathered back in the Robertson Auditorium for a panel discussion on marketing to millennials.

Our first afternoon keynote conversation featured Larry Miller, president of Jordan Brand, and Estee Portnoy, senior vice president of JUMP.DC.

After an hour dedicated to networking with industry professionals, we reconvened for our last keynote conversation between Stephen M. Ross and Dan Gilbert.

We hope to see you at the 2017 edition of the MSBC. Look for more engaging content throughout the coming months as we aim to continue expanding our brand to a multi-dimensional platform.
