The Michigan Sport Business Conference has announced that the event’s networking platform has been revamped in order to provide a better experience for conference attendees.
For 45 minutes during the morning portion of the MSBC, 24 study rooms in the Stephen M. Ross School of Business will be reserved to serve as private networking spaces, where senior level industry executives will be stationed for the duration of the session. Student attendees may sign up for one 15-minute slot, during which an executive will host a roundtable discussion with six student attendees. Available executives include Jeff Wilpon, COO of the New York Mets, Tom Garfinkel, President and CEO of the Miami Dolphins, Howard Handler, CMO of Major League Soccer, and more. This morning networking session is presented by the Detroit Pistons.
During the discussions, student attendees may ask questions about industry trends, current events, the industry executive’s career path and more. After 15 minutes are up, student attendees will rotate out of the room and a new group will come in. Once a student’s 15-minute session has ended, he or she is free to network with other conference attendees and engage with our first-ever Tech Showcase in the Winter Garden.
The MSBC student planning team is confident that this new networking structure will immensely benefit student attendees. Students should sign up for a time slot in the networking hour when registering for the conference. The earlier students sign up, the sooner they can select which individuals with whom they want to network.
The team has also introduced the MSBC Interactive Experience, one of the most exciting additions to this year’s conference. This event will be held in an area just outside the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. Students, speakers and industry professionals alike will be able to connect before the afternoon keynote, and attendees will have the option to enjoy this time to network or explore the latest technology in sport business by heading over to our Tech Showcase.
