5 Questions with MSBC VP of Partnerships Albert Karschnia

Albert Karschnia

Each week the MSBC will conduct a Q&A with two current planning committee members to provide some background on the people working hard to make the 2014 conference a success. This week Junior Albert Karschnia shares his experience of being on the 2014 MSBC team.

MSBC: Explain your role in the MSBC team and what you are currently doing in preparation for the MSBC 2014 conference.

Karschnia: As Vice President of Partnerships, it is my job to ensure that we continue to bring in great partners that will be mutually beneficial for the MSBC and the organizations involved. I have a great team of people and we are working very hard to accomplish our goals. The first task on our list is to secure renewals with all of our returning partners.

MSBC: What are some lessons that you have learned from planning the previous conference that you will apply to your current role?

Karschnia: Being involved with the conference for the past two years has given me the chance to work with some amazing people. Above all, I learned that anything is possible when you have a vision and are willing to work until that vision becomes a reality. There is nobody in the world that is doing what we are doing, and it is pretty special to be a part of.

MSBC: What is your most memorable moment with the MBSC?

Karschnia: My most memorable moment with the MSBC was listening to John Skipper and Mike Tirico last year.  That was the moment where I truly realized the magnitude of the MSBC and how unbelievable it is that a group of undergraduate students was able to get to this point in only our second year.

MSBC: What is a goal you would like to accomplish for the 2014 conference?

Karschnia: I want to continue to attract partners that will enhance the MSBC brand and work with those partners to improve the networking and recruiting aspect of the conference.

MSBC: What are your professional aspirations upon graduating from the University of Michigan?

Karschnia: My areas of interest include team operations, brand management, and marketing. I am hoping to pursue a career in any of those fields.
