5 Questions with MSBC Team Relations Coordinator Jill Ashinsky

Jill Ashinksy

Each week the MSBC will conduct a Q&A with two current planning committee members to provide some background on the people working hard to make the 2014 conference a success. This week Sophomore Jill Ashinsky shares her experience of being on the 2014 MSBC team.

MSBC: Explain your role in the MSBC team and what you are currently doing in preparation for the MSBC 2014 conference.

Ashinsky: This year, I am on the team relations team for MSBC. Throughout the semester, I have helped develop cohesiveness among the MSBC members to ensure that everyone knows who everyone else is and know how each person contributes to MSBC. I am currently working on recruiting strategies to help promote MSBC to new and returning conference attendees, which includes scheduling information sessions and creating flyers, among other things.

MSBC: What is it like working with VP of Team Relations Alyssa Duguay?

Ashinsky: Alyssa is really great to work with! We are a close-knit team and are able to work efficiently and effectively together. We have helped each other with developing new team bonding strategies and recruitment plans.

MSBC: What is your favorite part of being on the MSBC planning committee thus far?

Ashinsky: My favorite part of being on the MSBC planning committee so far has been seeing all of our ideas come to life! Coming up with our theme of Game Changers this year was very exciting, and it has been great seeing all of the positive feedback from our supporters. In addition, we have some really great events and speakers coming up that I am very excited to be a part of.

MSBC: What are your plans for the summer?

Ashinsky:This summer, I am working as a counselor at Camp Kinder Ring, a sleep-away camp in New York that I have been attending for the past 15 years.

MSBC: What are your professional aspirations upon graduating from the University of Michigan?

Ashinsky: After graduating from the University of Michigan, I want to pursue event planning as a profession. A dream of mine would be to work at Madison Square Garden by planning concerts, sporting events, and more!
